What is Relay for Life?
Relay for Life is a 12 hour peer-to-peer fundraiser at which the American Cancer Society club organizes a day packed with fundraising challenges, games, entertainment, and ceremonies honoring cancer patients and survivors. Our event culminates in the Luminaria Ceremony, in which participants light luminaria bags and line Russell field with them to honor those who have passed away from cancer.
Where do the funds go?
All funds that we earn from Relay for Life go directly to the national American Cancer Society organization, which uses the money for prevention, detection, education, research, and patient support programs. These programs include free lodging for patients and their families, transportation for patients to treatment, and support for breast cancer patients.
